To enable pivot tables you will need to use Internet Explorer (not Fire-fox, Safari, etc). You also might need to adjust your Internet Explorer settings using the directions below. Please review this with your Information Technology or internet security staff before attempting to change settings.

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Under the “Tools” menu, at the top of your browser window, select “Internet Options”
3. Within the Internet Options pane you will need to select the tab entitled “Security”
4. This will allow you to select the button near the bottom of this pane entitled "Custom Level…" (see image below for reference)
5. Your computer should open a new window or pane entitled “Security Settings”, and you will want to locate the section entitled "Miscellaneous" and then select the radio button “Enable” to permit “Access data sources across domains”
6. Select the “OK” button at the bottom of the Security Settings pane
7. Select the “OK” button at the bottom of the Internet Options pane

For Internet Explorer 8:
1. Open “Internet Explorer” and select “Tools” and then “Internet Options” and click on the “Security Tab”. Click on “Trusted Sites” and add http://eap.ucop.edu/ to the list. Click add and close. Make sure “Require HTTPS” is unchecked.
2. Click on the “Custom Level” button and scroll down until you see “Access data sources across domains” and click the radio button for enable. Click OK and OK and close the browser.

To select, edit or remove additional variables from the pivot table, right click on any variable and select "Field List".
