Netherlands: Special Focus Program: Wageningen University and Research Centre, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
Host InstitutionWageningen University and Research Centre: Agricultural and Environmental Sciences HighlightsWageningen University is a world leader in education and research in a number of agricultural and other scientific fields, including plant sciences, animal sciences, environmental sciences, agrotechnology, food technology, nutrition, and biodiversity. The program is academically rigorous and, in addition to course offerings, students (in consultation with their departmental advisors) may benefit from extensive opportunities to undertake independent research projects and internships. (details) This program is currently offered only to UC Davis agricultural and environmental sciences students. Duration Fall semester: late August to late December (calendar) Extension is possible from the fall to the year. Academic FocusAgricultural and environmental sciences. Language of InstructionEnglish and Dutch Language StudyFall semester students are encouraged to participate in a two-week Dutch Language and Culture course (DLC) in Utrecht prior to the beginning of the term at Wageningen. Due to calendar issues, spring semester students do not participate in the DLC in Utrecht prior to the regular term. Dutch language study is available during the term, but not required. UnitsStudents are required to take a full-time course of study on EAP. Students enroll in three to four courses per semester. Term: 18 to 24 UC quarter units per semester HousingStudents live in single or double rooms in student residence buildings near the university with host country students, international students, and UC students.
